The aerospace market in China potentially presents huge, long-term opportunities for UK companies, but with serious challenges and difficulties in achieving success.
A|D|S and the CEO’s of all the UK’s Regional Trade Associations have recently completed a trade mission to China, supported by UKTI and the British Embassy, to understand better the opportunities and challenges for the sector. Senior level discussions were held with Chinese government officials, senior management from COMAC and AVIC companies, as well as UK companies that are successfully operating in China today.
Following this visit, it is intended to define a UK national strategy to support UK industry in achieving success in the Chinese Aerospace market.
To ensure that this strategy puts in place the correct support mechanisms, we are very keen to hear views direct from companies with respect to their current activity and future aspirations in the Chinese aerospace market. Aerospace Sector Mission to China
An immediate opportunity is available to FAC members to participate in a trade mission to China in June, coinciding with the Shanghai Expo. This mission is subsidised to keep prices as low as possible and for eligible companies, flights can be heavily subsidised.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is organising an aerospace sector mission to China to enable UK companies to meet with the key aerospace manufacturing organisations and to get a better understanding of the market opportunities for new business.
The mission will be timed to coincide with a major UK advanced Engineering Showcase event that UKTI is organising in Shanghai.
