Our Programmes:
Technology Transfer
The National Aerospace Technology Strategy (NATS) launched in the UK in 2003 provided excellent opportunities for FAC to work wth Government, Academia, Primes and Supply Chain firms in developing new technology solutions to meet perceived market needs over the next decades.
High amongst these are technologies associated with autonomous vehicles, next generation civil aircraft wings, diagnostic and prognostic capability for advanced systems and air traffic management technologies.
FAC also leads several Knowledge Networks. These are unique activities that bring academia and business together effectively to improve increase market share in specific areas.
Skills & Training
The aviation industry generally in the West is exhibiting an ageing workforce and the challenges for many firms are to attract young scientists and engineers into the industry. In addition new technologies at both engineering and operational levels are demanding significant investment in up-skilling the existing workforce. FAC is active in this area in identifying specific needs of firms and aligning available funding to meet the demand whilst working with schools and colleges to excite young people into pursuing a career within the aviation industry.
Process Excellence
Supply Chain performance is recognised in the UK as critical to maintaining our share of world trade and last year a major programme for the industry was launched called Supply Chain in the 21st Century (SC21).
This programme delivers a standard lean manufacturing approach, gives international accreditation and improves relationships between suppliers and buyers. FAC working with its membership is actively involved in this critical area. For more information please call 01252 375600.
