Introducing the FAC

Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) is a not-for-profit trade association acting as a facilitator of business between large global primes and the supply chain and as an enabler of business support to its members and partners. It is one of the largest and most established aerospace and defence associations in the UK, providing support to, and furthering the long-term strategic growth of the sector in the South East.

Business Opportunity in Japan -

FAC have been contacted by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), a government organisation facilitating exports from Japan.

JETRO is inviting overseas corporations to have business meetings with local companies engaged in aircraft parts manufacturing, aerospace technologies, R&D, software development, etc., in Kanagawa and surrounding areas. A large number of manufactures and processing companies in Kanagawa prefecture are currently joining the aerospace field, through support by consortiums and governmental bodies.

Individual meetings between programme participants and Japanese SMEs engaged in the aerospace field are to be arranged by JETRO. The BtoB Meeting event will be held at the Technical Show Yokohama 2012, the biggest trade fair for industrial technologies and products in Kanagawa prefecture. The programme participants will have an opportunity to have meetings with exhibitors.

Take advantage of this chance to visit Japan to explore new business opportunities with unique and highly skilled Japanese suppliers.

The Expenses to be covered by JETRO are:

(1) Round-trip air fare and actual cost of transportation within Japan
(2) Actual cost of accommodation fees
(3) An interpreter during business meetings organised by JETRO

Applications to this programme will close on December 12th and successful candidates will be informed in the mid of December.

CAA UAV Approval -

CAA approves new segregated airspace for Unmanned Vehicles

Civil Aviation Authority gives green light for world class unmanned systems facility in Wales

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) today announced its endorsement of the Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) which will create a unique environment within the UK for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to fly in segregated airspace. The revised airspace will become effective from 28 July 2011.
