There can be little doubt that the past year has been a difficult one for the defence and aerospace industry, yet throughout the period FAC and its member companies have worked hard together to improve the value of FAC membership by arranging many training, networking and meet the buyer events.
With the impending closure of SEEDA, FAC has played a full part in establishing relations with politicians and senior officials in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and in the setting up of the new Local Economic Partnerships in line with Government policy.
This annual conference is an opportunity for us all to share experiences and opinions and hence enhance our joint commitment to adding value to the UK economy. I hope that you will find the day a valuable experience and I, John Copley and all the team look forward to meeting you again.
