Statement from FAC Chairman
“I have to advise you that Ross Bradley will be leaving FAC in October to take up a position in Abu Dhabi. You may have seen that at FI2008 Mubadala, the investment arm of Abu Dhabi, announced an investment of $500m to establish a market leading advanced composite aerostructure facility. It is reported that they have already secured $1b worth of work packages from Airbus. Ross has been appointed to a CEO position to help develop this facility.
The FAC Board and SEEDA have been advised. Their reaction has been very positive in the sense that although, like me, we would have preferred Ross to remain at FAC, with the rapid growth of aviation in the Emirates we would rather have a strong UK personality in the key position who can act as our agent to liaise with FAC and direct work packages into the UK, rather than see the appointment of a CEO from another nation.
The Executive team remains totally committed to continuing the growth of FAC and I, together with two other directors and the Company Secretary, am already actively seeking a replacement for Ross.
Sir Donald Spiers
FAC Chairman”
