Course Overview:
Aerospace and Aviation sector SMEs (<250 employees) based in the South East can send employees on fully funded short (1-5 day) technical training courses in 2010. This is a very cost effective (in fact, FREE!) way of helping companies 'up-skill' in certain niche technical areas, without releasing employees for significant periods of time.
Courses eligible for funding cover subjects such Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD and Solidworks software), Computer Aided Milling/Machining, CNC, Metrology and
Introduction to Composites. Additionally, courses on GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) will be of particular interest to certain aerospace companies, as these courses provide relevant hands-on skills to employees.
This program of fully funded short courses is part of the Skills 4 Technology program, which is co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). This funding source finishes at the end of 2010, so companies must book employees on a course in 2010 to benefit.
